While the world is striving to combat, we, as a responsible organization, have been standing in solidarity as one Welspun family, supporting the lives of those in need in these times of adversity.

We, at Welspun, have been contributing to this cause in every possible way and we are not leaving any stone unturned by lending out our absolute help and assistance to the government, our community, customers and employees.

Our key initiatives are Protection of Employees FamiliesPenta Protocol, Vaccination, Mental Wellbeing, WelHeal App, 24x7 Medical Facilities and many more.

Protection for Employees' Family

While one cannot compensate for life, we are committed to support the family of our colleagues who have lost the battle to COVID-19, by taking care of their living expenses, education and health insurance. The company will extend the following support to the deceased employee’s family:

  • 50% of monthly salary for 2 years as living allowance
  • Medical insurance for family (spouse and 2 kids) of 5 lakhs for 10 years
  • Education fees for 2 kids up to graduation
  • Consider spouse/children for suitable job roles based on company’s policy as per requisite qualification and skill

Welspun Penta Protocol

We've introduced 'Penta Protocol', a five-layered security framework to ensure the well-being and safety of our people. Through Penta Protocol, we've laid down industry-defining practices, standards and procedures to be followed by all employees, associates, partners, customers, and other stakeholders, in order to protect themselves in offices and manufacturing units. The purpose behind putting these procedures in place is to initiate a behavioural change movement, which will re-define the way people live, interact and run a business in the future. We have also instituted several measures, including apps and AI-led robots, amongst others, to ensure the holistic wellbeing of our members.

Penta Protocol consists of social distancing guidelines, workplace practices, thermal scanning, wearing of PPEs, sanitization, and several other strict regulations to curb the spread of Coronavirus. Welspun is amongst the first few companies to undertake a virtual audit by Big 4 firms for the implementation of safety measures as per the Penta Protocol in the factories.

85% of all employees aged 45 and above are vaccinated. We are continuously organizing vaccination drives for all eligible employees, including those in the 18+ bracket as per the directive by Government of India.

Mental Wellbeing

We have organized meditation sessions for employees and their families to help with mental health during uncertain times. The company has also hosted a number of sessions with renowned psychologists to elaborate on ways to deal with COVID-related anxiety. Psychologists are available on call as well as nutritionists to help employees eat right and boost their immunity.

Wel-Heal App

To ensure the overall well being of our employees, we have also undertaken myriad measures, including the introduction of the WelHeal app, which provides self-assessment of symptoms and creates general awareness pertaining to COVID-19. We are using Wel-heal app for contact tracing and to provide safety awareness with 100% testing being done of new joinees, visitors or employees coming from outside. The app is also equipped with geo-fencing and geo-tagging features.

24x7 Medical Facilities

Considering the remote locations of our factories, we have also deployed AI-enabled robots at our medical centres to provide locals with medical assistance. These robots will create a virtual interactive space between specialist doctors from anywhere in the world and patients, thereby bringing world-class medical aid to them. We also have 24*7 well-equipped medical centres at all our locations with all the necessary equipment, including ICU beds, isolation wards and PPEs.

We have also tied up with external partners for 24*7 help to employees and their extended family members in times of medical emergencies. The services provided as part of this initiative includes – remote medical support at no cost, discounted medicines, diagnostics lab tests at discounted rates, home healthcare and isolation program, employee assistance program at no-cost, vaccination drive including home vaccination, etc. We also continue to support the health & wellbeing of our people & their families by providing them immunity booster supplements, homeopathy medicines, vitamin tablets and all essential services. Transportation facilities are also provided to employees to reduce chances of their exposure to the virus.

Project Saksham

In addition to all the measures for employees, we have also launched Project Saksham with an aim to connect with the families of employees residing in Bihar and Jharkhand to reassure them about the wellbeing of the workforce as well as build awareness amongst the local communities around precautionary measures to be taken, to fight the spread of COVID-19. We reached out to one lakh individuals across 15 districts to distribute masks and relevant informatory material, and to educate them about the initiatives undertaken to ensure the safety of our members.

Supporting the Nation & Communities

We, at Welspun, are doing our bit to support our nation and communities that we serve in this time of crisis. As our humble contribution, we are using our capacities to make hand wipes and face masks to meet the demand-supply gap for personal protection. We are also making PPEs by leveraging our integrated capabilities in both woven & non-woven fabrics.

Digital Workplace

While social distancing has made so many people work from home, we are bridging distances by virtually engaging with our teams. We are also productively using this time to invest in Health, Wellness and Learning, with the use of digital programs. Digital transformation initiatives, which were already being implemented, have now accelerated across the organization. Welspun is, thereby, ready for the new digital normal.
